11th Idea Master Mark

As a student I have seen this project evolve over the past 2 years, transforming and growing alongside myself, as I refined my ideas into a brand, I am truly proud of. The brand name is derived from the design idiom “your first 10 ideas have already been thought of” referring to the repetitive and influenced nature of idea generation in design fields.

The goal for this project was to produce a highly adaptable, yet strikingly recognisable branding mark for my own personal brand. With these conflicting stipulations in mind, I set about creating a mark that was both simple and intricate. This limited both my colour choices and the number of design elements, significantly.

But restriction breeds creative solutions, and I resolved myself to producing the perfect design. However, this problem required more than just a single branding mark, instead the project evolved into a complete brand identity.

The final brand mark comes in three major variations, the master mark, as shown above, and a branding signature, to the right. The signature contains both a vertical and horizontal configuration, to be used as needed. This range allows the brand to remain consistent across all projects and collaborations without needing alteration.

The master version, being the face of the brand is the most complex of these designs, making it the most recognisable. However, this recognisability is greatly diminished on a smaller scale. At which point the signatures come into play, being used as a means to communicate the tone and feel of the original, yet on a much smaller scale.

The marks’ adaptability continues to the colours, with base colour be changeable, to anything, in order to fit the needs of the project, while still retaining its distinct look. For greater detail, please feel free to check out the complete style guide below.
